Freezes, practicing them, differentiation, new freezes

As my original purpose i wanted bboys to better themselves, not only as dancers, but as people (which is why not all of my posts pertain directly to dancing.

but anyway, freezes.
a freeze is when you stop all general movement and hold a position. as if you were frozen in time (wooooo right!?)

well anyswoozies...

you have your general freezes, baby, chair, airchair, handstand, nikes.....
but all of them are basic general freezes. what makes them special is what you do with them. you should try to make these general freezes for unique. (i can't tell you exactly different stuff because i dont wanna promote biting of my friends stuff lol)- cause i keeps it basic, word!

EXAMPLE- putting your hand on a different location, when you normally chair most people either keep their hand on the ground or their hip, put it on your head, tummy, shoe. something different. attempt a different position with your feet as well. all that adds a uniqueness to your freezes that when you do (even that little movement) people will get a little excited about it and wont understand why. they may not notice the different foot/hand psotion immediately, but subconciously their screaming WOOOO!

SO NOW THAT YOU HAVE GENERAL FREEZE VARIATIONS NOW

come up with new freezes. just while your breaking, say 15 seconds. every 15 seconds while your throwing a set, just stop like you got shot with a freeze gun from batman. NEW FREEZE. then continue.15 seconds. GET SHOT... new freeze again! damn i'm good... i just got you 4 new freezes in the matter of 2 minutes it took to read this blog. now go out an have some fun children.

PRACTICING FREEZES

do a freeze, hold it for 10 seconds and breath normally (if possible) then go into a new freeze (like you were stacking), do this with every freeze you can think of hard or easy. when 10 seconds become easy for you, go to 20 seconds. and then harder freezes or variations. this builds muscle memory so when your tired you'll hit your freezes correctly and it's a nice general practice technique anyway
